Zhang Xiaoyue and 16 Other Students Went to Lingnan University & City University of Hong Kong to Participate in the Future Asian Leader Elite Summer Camp 2019

From July 13to July18, 2019,Zhang Xiaoyueand 16otherstudentsfrom the School of Management, Jilin University went to Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong to participate in the Future Asian Leader Elite Summer Camp 2019,led by MsLi Miao andMsYin Miaomiao.Students from McGill University, Shandong University, Hainan University and other domestic andinternationaluniversitiesalso joined the program.

Students went to Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong toattend courses andseminars, such as“Enhancing Competitiveness in the AI Era”, “Marketing and Data Algorithms on E-Commerce Platforms”, “Marketing Theory”, “Core Analysis of Leadership”, “LeadershipCultivation and Application”, “Belt&Road and the Economy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area: Entry and Sharing”,etc.

Afterclass, studentswere organizedtoconduct onsite visitstoplaces includingthe Hong Kong Monetary Authority(HKMA)Information Centre,theMTRTraining Base, Tsim Sha Tsui,andPing Shan Tang Clan Gallery. Students learned about the financial environmentinHong Kong, the organizational structure and functions ofHKMA, anditsimpact on the financial order in Hong Kong and Asia. MTR staff introduced the history and main business of the MTR Group to the students, andinstructedthemon how to drivethe subwayat the training base.

The Future Asian Leader Elite Summer Camp 2019createda platform for students to broaden their horizons, enhancetheirleadership, andmakecross-cultural exchanges, and provided an opportunityfor themto understand Hong Kong’s finance, education, and social development, from whichthe students benefiteda lot.

Iwasmore than delightedto have this opportunity to exchange and study at Lingnan University and City UniversityofHong Kong. Iattendedlecturesgiven byteachers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States withotherstudents fromtopuniversitiesinthe world.Weexplored thecareer prospects and competition in the era of AI, listened to speeches onInternet marketing and data algorithmsbye-commerce platform entrepreneurs,discussedthe source and cultivation of leadership, andconsideredthe economic policies of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-MacaoGreaterBay Area under the Belt and Road Initiative.After class, guided by the teachers, we had anin-depthlook intoHong Kong’shistory, culture and economy,bystudyingtraditionalancestral halls, visitingthe Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the MTR Training Base, and understanding Hong Kong’s economic development status in Tsim Sha Tsui and Ngong Ping.I would like to thankmyschoolfor such a rare,eye-openingopportunity.

TheSummerCamp focused on marketing and leadership, and expanded horizontally and vertically the knowledgewe hadlearned in school.During the program,I not only got to know more aboutstudentsfrommyschool,butalso made friends from differentplaces.
